I literally just came across the picture that a person posted on a friends facebook status about League of Legends. This picture amuses me. Most people, especially those who are new to the game or have played it for over 2 years like me, can often get this feeling of: "I have no idea what I'm doing" xD
This doesn't just happen in LoL, it happens in most games in general. This is usually how you start out, especially if you are the impatient, "click click, hurry up I want to play the game" type. You look at the game and click around guessing. It took me a very long time to adjust to playing FPS' after dedicating so much time into learning the strings of LoL, which I still admit I don't know everything about. This leads me on to another point that relates to this: how can we really know how to play a game? In some games it's obvious, some ambiguous and in some, the player has freedom of choice. Most of the Games we have talked about frequently in lectures have been RPGs, in which your decisions affect the outcome. In LoL, the obvious aim is to win. However, how you might choose to play varies, because there are so many champions you can play and roles that you can fulfill.
Other than LoL, there are many more important examples of games that can include the same impatience or confusion of how to play. Games from genres such as RPGs, adventure games, and notably fighting games - e.g. let's mash the buttons and we'll surely do that special kick flip magical spin in Tekken/Soul Caliber/Mortal Kombat ETCETCETC
To further discussion if anyone chooses, feel free to mention those times you first played a particular game and thought "I have no idea what I'm doing" :D that or picked up a game you once played before and you're just like "I don't remember any of this shit. Nope."
