I think this just go to show, as Kevin was mentioning, how real technology can be more desensitizing and promote more violence than videogames, without remotely reaching the same level of gore. Not to mention it's a great opportunity for games and game developers to actually use procedural rhetoric to counteract arguments against games promoting violence. That is to say, by simulating real, modern day, wartime violence, games can actually raise awareness and promote pacifism, instead of violence.
Of course, it wouldn't qualm everyone's worries as to the subject, but it would certainly be a start, and a strong backing for game developers to compare game vs. real world violence.
